As an independent business with strong ties to the local area, here at SCS Waste, we’re passionate about doing our bit for our community and making a meaningful impact. That’s why we’re so excited to announce our charity partnership with Chestnut Tree House – a children’s charity operating throughout Sussex and South East Hampshire.
Read on to find out more about the invaluable work Chestnut Tree House does and how we’ll be supporting them in the future.

Chestnut Tree House is a children’s hospice, located just down the road from our base in Arundel. Every year, the incredible staff at Chestnut Tree House care for over 300 children suffering from life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.
For Chestnut Tree House to operate, they require an estimated £5 million a year. Only a small proportion of this comes from the Government, so it’s essential that local people and businesses donate and support them so they can continue this invaluable service.
Chestnut Tree House’s goal is to provide compassionate hospice care to children facing severe and life-threatening health challenges, supporting their families and loved ones and ensuring the best quality of life possible.
Offering practical guidance and emotional support, their empathetic care team helps families to navigate this difficult time. With a hydrotherapy pool, a sensory room, a computer/gaming room, a woodland walk and an accessible playground, Chestnut Tree House provides a space where children can be children and find some moments of joy in the midst of their treatment.
Activity coordinators, support workers, counsellors and specially trained nurses all work together to ensure every child receives the personalised care and attention they need. This also allows carers some respite and the chance to take a well-earned break.
Here at SCS Waste, we’re busy planning ways that we can continue to raise some much-needed awareness and funds for this vital charity.
In addition to fundraising, we plan to wrap one of our skip lorries with the Chestnut Tree House branding, as well as a QR code so passersby can easily find out more and donate. We also hope to do some volunteering as a team, contributing our time to support this great cause. We’re continuing to brainstorm more ways we can help, so stay tuned for more information on our plans.
Our director Jacob Hoare said: “We are delighted to work with Chestnut Tree House and help support the invaluable work they do in our area. This partnership represents our commitment to making a positive impact in our local community, and we’re inspired by the incredible dedication and care shown by the entire Chestnut Tree House team. We look forward to raising funds and awareness however we can.”
